Changwon Special City Second Vice Mayor Cho Myungrae Practices Communicative Administration for Daesan-myeon Development Direction Jomyeongrae, Changwon Special City Second Vice Mayor, Holds Meeting with Local Representatives of Daesan-myeon.

The Jedong District urban development project, a long-awaited initiative for local residents, began with an application for designation as an urban development zone and the establishment of a development plan in 2016 for the area of Jedong-ri, Daesan-myeon, Uichang-gu. Although the project has been promoted as a public development through administrative procedures, its progress has been delayed due to changing circumstances such as the downturn in the domestic and global construction markets.

In response, the city held a meeting on the 8th with representatives of Daesan-myeon, following their request for a discussion on the development of Daesan-myeon, including the Jedong District urban development project.

At the meeting attended by local representatives of Daesan-myeon, Vice Mayor Cho expressed his understanding of the need for development in Daesan-myeon in light of the development of neighboring areas.

However, regarding the Jedong District urban development project, he stated that although it has been promoted as a public development, considering the downturn in the construction industry and the city's challenging financial situation, it would be more appropriate to proceed as a private development. He also promised active administrative support if the project is implemented as a private development.

In response, the local representatives and city council members agreed on the difficulties of promoting the Jedong District urban development project as a public initiative amid the construction market slump. They requested support for the establishment of infrastructure in Daesan-myeon, such as the Nampho IC connecting road and city gas supply, to facilitate the development of Daesan-myeon and attract future private development.

Vice Mayor Cho stated, "We will strive to secure funding for the Nampho IC connecting road project being promoted by our city. We will also actively provide administrative support for the supply of city gas."
