Hanseo University and KBO Jointly Complete '2024 Boot Camp'

Hanseo University conducted the ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) - Community Coexistence Project ‘KBO Nine (NINE) Season 2024 Beyond Region’ from the 4th to the 6th, in collaboration with 25 universities nationwide, the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO), and 10 professional baseball teams.

‘KBO Nine (NINE) Season 2024 Beyond Region’ is a project utilizing the IC-PBL (Industry Coupled Problem Based Learning) program method, where universities and industries collaborate to solve real-world problems occurring on site. This university-community-industry linkage project started in 2022 and is now in its third year.

As an IC-PBL course linked with companies in the ESG field, this program discovers students’ ideas on regional issues and ESG activities. Following 2022 and 2023, this year again, about 180 students from 25 universities nationwide will participate and propose solutions to various ESG-related problems connected with local communities and baseball teams.

During this bootcamp, students and mentors assigned to each team met in person to refine ideas previously shared online, and attended special lectures on field interview methodologies, problem identification and analysis, solution proposals, and mock interviews.

Kim Hyun-sung, Vice President for Industry-Academia Cooperation and Project Director, stated, “This KBO Nine (NINE) Season 2024 bootcamp marks the beginning of a grand journey involving 25 universities, institutions, and teams, building upon the achievements of the past two years with an enhanced ESG IC-PBL course. Through the upcoming value-up camp and performance sharing sessions, we will ensure that students successfully complete the KBO Nine (NINE) program and continue to plan creative educational programs where students can enjoy learning.”
