Educational Resources Linked ... Support for Various Experiential Activities

Uiryeong Future Education District of the Uiryeong Office of Education in Gyeongnam announced on the 9th that they are providing special experiential activities for elementary and middle school students in Uiryeong by utilizing various educational resources beyond regional boundaries.

On the 21st of last month, Uiryeong Future Education District organized an activity for all students of Jeonggok Middle School to visit the Goryodong Isilwon in Haman, where they learned about the characteristics and benefits of lotus leaves, known as longevity food, and participated in hands-on experiences making lotus leaf tea and lotus leaf rice using lotus leaves.

On this day, students observed the shape of lotus flowers and lotus leaves with their eyes, touched and smelled them to stimulate their senses, and then joyfully engaged in cooking activities.

Jeonggok Middle School students shared their thoughts, saying, "Wrapping rice in a lotus leaf was unfamiliar. It was a unique experience," and "I learned through this activity that lotus leaves are good for our health. I want to make lotus leaf rice with my parents at home since it seems easy to prepare."

On the 5th, 94 third and fourth grade students from Uiryeong Elementary School were invited to visit Masan Robot Land in Changwon, the world's first robot-themed park.

This experiential activity was designed to give students the opportunity to experience firsthand how robot technology, a core field of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, is utilized in various industries, allowing them to feel closer to the future of robots they had only imagined and to learn in a fun way.

On this day, students, forgetting the scorching heat, toured various themed robot exhibition halls, showing enthusiastic interest and curiosity about robots with sparkling eyes.

Since April, we have organized experiential events for students of Chilgok Elementary, Uiryeong Girls' Middle, Shinban Middle, Jeonggok Middle, and Uiryeong Elementary, and the response has been very positive," adding, "We will continue to provide detailed support so that students can broaden their experiences, nurture their dreams, and grow beyond the limitations of the region."
