Heroes Protecting the Nation's Safety, Building Practical Skills of the Coast Guard
Mokpo Maritime Police Station (Chief Kwon Oh-seong) announced on the 9th that it will conduct field training for four candidates of the 249th Maritime Police Academy for about 12 weeks from the 8th of this month until September 27.
Through this field training, the trainees are expected to apply the knowledge learned at the Maritime Police Academy to practical work sites and improve their practical skills.
Among them, trainee Kim Yong-moon is a talent hired through a special recruitment for Chinese language skills and is known to be the younger brother of Police Officer Kim Yong, who is active on a patrol vessel. It is reported that Kim Yong-moon chose the path of the maritime police influenced by the pride his sister feels while protecting the sea.
In addition, trainees who joined through the patrol personnel, maritime police studies department, and Chinese language experienced recruitment routes are expected to be active in the field based on their specialties and experiences.
Trainee Kim Yong-moon said, “Wearing the maritime police uniform has been a long-cherished wish, so it still feels unbelievable,” and added, “During the training period, I will learn a lot from my seniors to become a capable maritime police officer for the safe seas of the people.”
It is expected that through this field training, the prospective maritime police officers will develop practical skills and contribute to protecting the safe seas for the public.
