Operation Started Last July
Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Evaluates as Successful Operation as a Return-to-Farming and Rural Living Platform
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Agency of Education, Promotion and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries announced on the 9th that 40,000 people registered as members in the first year of operating the integrated return-to-farming and rural living platform 'Green Daero', and among them, 1,000 people returned to farming.
Green Daero is a platform that collects and provides personalized information and services related to return-to-farming and rural living policies, farmland, housing, jobs, and more. It began operation in July of last year.
Over the past year until last month, the total number of visitors to Green Daero was 5.92 million, averaging 16,397 visitors per day. Looking at the number of views by main menu, experience information composed of living in rural areas and local writers accounted for the largest share at 31.5%.
The total number of new member sign-ups was 40,308, averaging 112 new members per day. By age group, youth aged 30 and under accounted for the largest portion at 34.7%, and more than half (52.8%) of the members resided in the metropolitan area.
In the 'Community', a space where members with similar interests (region, product) can communicate about farming information and rural life, 88 groups were formed. Youth made up 46% (353 people) of the total 767 members, showing strong interest.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' survey of new members registered as agricultural business operators, a total of 1,079 people were registered. The Ministry evaluated that Green Daero was successfully operated as a return-to-farming and rural living platform in its first year.
Yoon Won-seup, Director of Agricultural Policy at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, said, "In May, we introduced a big data analysis base and established the integrated youth farming platform 'Tantan Daero' to further enhance the information provision function," adding, "We will actively support the systematic preparation and settlement of those wishing to return to farming and rural living."
