OnlyU 'Travel with Ex-Spouse' Survey Results
Emotions Felt During Travel... Men: "Relationship Deterioration", Women: "Tired"
About 44% of 돌싱 (returned singles) reported not being sufficiently satisfied with trips taken with their ex-spouses, according to a survey. The main reasons for dissatisfaction were 'shopping' for men and 'travel itinerary' for women.
On the 9th, remarriage information company OnlyU released the results of a survey conducted with 536 divorced men and women (268 men and 268 women each) regarding 'traveling with an ex-spouse (during marriage).'
When asked, "How did you feel when you traveled with your ex-spouse during summer vacations or other holidays?" men responded as follows: ▲The relationship worsened (30.6%) ▲Physically and mentally exhausted (29.5%) ▲Recharged (25.0%) ▲Created memories (21.6%) ▲Physically and mentally exhausted (14.6%). Women answered in this order: ▲Physically and mentally exhausted (29.5%) ▲Broadened horizons (26.1%) ▲Created memories (23.1%) ▲The relationship worsened (13.8%).
Regarding arguments that occurred during trips with ex-spouses, men and women gave differing answers. Men cited ▲Shopping (30.2%) ▲Travel itinerary (26.1%) ▲Luggage (22.0%) ▲Clothing (14.2%) as the main causes of disputes, while women pointed to ▲Travel itinerary (34.7%) ▲Side glances (26.5%) ▲Clothing (21.3%) ▲Shopping (11.5%) as sources of arguments.
In response to the question, "Reasons for not having a pleasant time traveling with an ex-spouse," men selected ▲Differences in interests (34.3%) ▲Different purposes (28.0%) ▲Usual uncomfortable feelings (24.6%) ▲Budget differences (13.1%), while women chose ▲Usual uncomfortable feelings (33.2%) ▲Differences in interests (28.7%) ▲Different purposes (22.4%) ▲Budget differences (15.7%) most frequently.
Regarding these results, Son Dong-gyu, CEO of OnlyU, advised, "Traveling often presents many unfamiliar and unfamiliar situations. When the couple's relationship is good, they can resolve issues through mutual agreement, but if they are uncomfortable with each other, travel can further worsen the relationship. Therefore, caution is needed before embarking on a trip."
