Yeongcheon City Offers Additional 5% Discount on Yeongcheon Sarang Card

Up to 15% Discount Benefit

Yeongcheon City in North Gyeongsang Province was selected for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's "Local Love Gift Certificate Policy Project" in April, and will begin offering an additional 5% discount on the Yeongcheon Sarang Card starting from the 8th.

The card-type Yeongcheon Sarang Gift Certificate currently operates with a 10% pre-discount upon recharge, and through this project, an additional 5% discount will be applied at the time of payment, providing up to a 15% discount in total.

The businesses eligible for the additional 5% discount include designated "Good Price" stores within the city, as well as Yeongcheon Public Market, Geumho Public Market, and Sinnyung Public Market, totaling around 120 affiliated stores. For multicultural families, the benefit will be provided to those registered within the city.

Multicultural families can apply for the additional discount at local administrative welfare centers or the Yeongcheon City Family Center. The list of businesses where the discount can be used will be posted on the Yeongcheon City Hall website.

The Yeongcheon Sarang Card can be issued via the smartphone app "Local Gift Certificate chak," and can also be issued offline at branches of Nonghyup, Livestock Cooperatives, Post Offices, Saemaeul Geumgo, and Credit Unions within Yeongcheon City.

A Yeongcheon City official stated, "We expect that by providing this additional 5% discount, we will be able to respond to the ongoing decline in population and the resulting economic downturn, as well as contribute to the protection of small business owners and the revitalization of traditional markets by promoting consumption."
