On the 8th, Baek Seonghyeon, Mayor of Nonsan City, Chungnam Province, ordered thorough safety management and comprehensive countermeasures for areas at risk of damage due to the issuance of a heavy rain advisory and landslide warning.

Since the afternoon of the 7th, Nonsan has experienced heavy rainfall of 30 to 50mm per hour, recording an average cumulative precipitation of 317mm as of noon that day.

In response, the city has restricted vehicle access to areas such as Gyochon-ri in Eunjin-myeon, the riverside parking lot at Nonsandaegyo, and parts of Yeonsan-myeon, and is currently working to restore areas affected by soil runoff and fallen trees.

After canceling all official schedules, Mayor Baek prioritized inspections of embankments in Seongdong-myeon and the Geumgang riverside, which suffered collapse damage last year.

He paid particular attention to Nonsancheon, low-lying farmlands, riversides, and drainage channels, carefully checking each area for control and restoration status.

Mayor Baek stated, "We will maintain a flawless emergency response system to prevent any casualties and devote all efforts to disaster response," and urged, "Citizens should refrain from outdoor activities and immediately notify relevant authorities if any signs of danger are detected."
