Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation) announced on the 8th that it received the grand prize in the ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) management category at the '19th Korea Environmental Awards' ceremony held on the 5th at the Small and Medium Business DMC Tower in Mapo-gu, Seoul.

This award is organized by the Korea Environmental Awards Committee, composed of current and former government officials. SH Corporation was recognized for its efforts in areas such as establishing a dedicated environmental management organization, formulating climate change response guidelines, and discovering eco-friendly construction methods.
In 2018, SH Corporation was the first urban development corporation to establish a comprehensive fine dust countermeasure plan, and last year, it formed an ESG management promotion system. In particular, it established the Green City Department, a dedicated organization for the environmental sector, to build an environmental management strategy system. For the purpose of raising eco-friendly funds, it issued approximately 300 billion KRW worth of green bonds and is also promoting the 'Energy-saving Eco-friendly Housing Construction Project.'
Kim Heon-dong, President of SH Corporation, said, "As a public enterprise responsible for the housing stability of Seoul citizens, we will continuously strive to contemplate SH Corporation's role and spread ESG values."
