Hana Financial Group and Financial Supervisory Service Collaborate to Nurture Young Talent in Digital Finance

Now in its third year, Hana Financial's Hana Digital Power On is a practical future talent development project that supports the challenges and growth of young people in line with the rapidly advancing digitalization of finance. The project is hosted by Hana Financial and sponsored by the Financial Supervisory Service, Google, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft, and SK Telecom.

The inauguration ceremony for the 3rd phase was attended by external figures including Lee Bok-hyun, Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service; Colin Crooks, British Ambassador to Korea; Lee Hun-gyu, Chairman of the Children and Future Foundation; and Kang Se-won, Vice President of SK Telecom, as well as Hana Financial Chairman Ham Young-joo and group officials. Twenty teams comprising 78 young participants who passed the document screening for this project also attended the event.

On the same day, a 'Digital New Technology Competition' was held to select the young participants who would ultimately join the project. The competition, involving 20 teams, featured proposals for financial and digital convergence ideas utilizing the digital new technologies ABCD (AI, Blockchain, Cloud, Data).

Hana Financial plans to provide specialized intensive software training to the final participating teams. The training period has been extended from four days a week to five days a week. Customized courses are offered separately for IT majors and non-majors, enabling participating teams to efficiently build specialized knowledge and experience.

Through participation in a hackathon competition held in collaboration with SK Telecom, the young teams can concretize their unique sparkling ideas and develop them into prototypes. After the specialized training, they will also receive mentoring from Hana Financial’s on-site employees for three months. Through this, they will conduct field projects focused on developing financial services using digital new technologies and present the projects carried out at the final performance sharing session.

Outstanding participating teams selected through all stages of the Hana Digital Power On 3rd phase project will be awarded a total prize of 30 million KRW. The top three teams will receive the special privilege of visiting global IT companies.

They will experience advanced finance and technology by touring fintech companies at the heart of the global financial market in the UK, startup incubation education institutions, and global financial institutions. As before, all graduates will receive preferential benefits when applying for employment at Hana Financial.

Chairman Ham Young-joo said, "The core of digital financial competitiveness is determined by excellent digital talent, and the fate of companies depends on the cultivation and securing of digital talent. Through the Hana Digital Power On project, we will do our best to help participating young people grow into future digital talents."
