First Aid and Injury Prevention for Athletes
The Department of Physical Therapy at Dong-Eui University of Science and Technology (President Kim Youngdo) recently participated in volunteer activities at the '2024 Wonju Trail Running World Championships'.
During the event, students from the Department of Physical Therapy operated a conditioning booth, taking charge of the athletes' conditioning management. They provided stretching, massage, and first aid to the participants and worked to prevent muscle fatigue and injuries that could occur during the competition.
The volunteer activities of the professors and students from Dong-Eui University of Science and Technology's Department of Physical Therapy were recognized for contributing to the athletes' performance improvement and received positive feedback not only from the athletes but also from the event officials.
An event official applauded, saying, "Thanks to the professionalism and passion of the students from the Department of Physical Therapy at Dong-Eui University of Science and Technology, the athletes were able to maintain their best condition."
The students who participated in the volunteer work shared, "It was very meaningful to be able to volunteer at a world-class event, and we are proud to have been helpful to the athletes."
Song Minyoung, Director of the Sports Rehabilitation Center at Dong-Eui University of Science and Technology, said, "The achievements of the Department of Physical Therapy at Dong-Eui University of Science and Technology will continue in connection with the Sports Rehabilitation Center, and we will fulfill our role as a university that grows together with the local community."
The Department of Physical Therapy at Dong-Eui University of Science and Technology plans to continue strengthening students' practical skills and their sense of connection with the local community, thereby enhancing their on-site job competencies.
