Second Floor of Building Without Elevator
'Sorry Every Time' Gave a Peach
Netizens "Truly Heartwarming Story"
A delivery driver who delivered goods to the second floor of a building without an elevator shared a story about receiving a box of peaches.
On the 6th, a post titled "I am a delivery driver" was uploaded on an online community. The author, Mr. A, who identified himself as a 13-year veteran delivery driver working in Cheonan, Chungnam, began by saying, "There is a house on the second floor where deliveries come frequently."
Mr. A said, "Today, a delivery arrived at that house again, so I went up to the second floor. The delivery items were two boxes of peaches." He added, "Usually, when doing delivery work, going up to the second floor is easy. Still, every time I deliver there, they always prepare drinks for me and apologize because it’s the second floor." He continued, "After delivering the two boxes of peaches via the stairs and was about to leave, the couple who live on the second floor called me over." He explained, "They gave me one of the two boxes of peaches, apologizing again for the inconvenience of it being the second floor. I said it was okay and tried not to accept it, but their daughter insisted that I must take it, so I accepted it."
Looking at the photo of the peaches Mr. A received, ten peaches are neatly arranged inside the box. There is no bruising anywhere, and the skin appears well preserved, suggesting they are top-grade peaches.
Mr. A added, "It was very hot and tiring today, but this gave me strength," and said, "Although there are sometimes difficult customers, thanks to customers like these, I find the energy to keep doing delivery work. It was truly a grateful day."
Netizens who read the story responded with comments such as, "You can see the character of the couple," "This is the spirit of Koreans," "They must have been so happy," "The second floor is easy enough to deliver to, but they are really kind people," "I bet they thought ‘We should give this to the delivery driver’ when ordering the peaches, you can tell without seeing," and "The world is heartwarming because of people like them." Netizen B added, "My husband also works as a delivery driver, and yesterday after work, he took out bread, drinks, and snacks from his bag and said, ‘The customer gave me these. It gives me strength and joy.’ I hope everyone stays healthy and enjoys their work," adding to the warmth of the story.
