Singer Ash Island (25, real name Yoon Jin-young), a former contestant of 'High School Rapper 2,' and Japanese rapper Chanmina (26) have announced their marriage.
On the 7th, Ash Island posted on his Instagram, "Chanmina and I have promised to spend our lives together. She is someone I am very grateful for, and I am truly thankful and happy to become family with Mina, who has always been my greatest support in every way."
He also revealed Chanmina's pregnancy news. "The even happier news is that a new life has come between us...! I feel incredibly grateful for this fact, and I am very happy and thankful to be able to share this happiness with many people. I will also do my best to share the love I have received from everyone with many others in the future," he added.
Chanmina also announced the marriage news on her Instagram the same day, saying, "I am getting married to Ash Island. I am truly happy to become family with him, who is the one and only person in my life, my most beloved person, and my close friend."
Ash Island gained public attention by appearing on Mnet's 'High School Rapper 2' in 2018. He then debuted with the single "How R U." In 2020, he won the New Artist of the Year award at the Korean Hip-Hop Awards.
Chanmina is a Korean-Japanese artist with a Korean mother and a Japanese father. She gained recognition for her rap skills by appearing on Japan's rap battle program 'High School Rap Championship' and officially debuted in February 2017 with "FXXKER." She has built her own musical world by showcasing a wide musical spectrum with hits like "LADY," which ranked number one on the iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap chart and Line Music, and "CHOCOLATE." Since 2022, she has consistently released Korean singles, including "Don't Go," featuring Ash Island, and last year's "Biscuit," collaborating with domestic artists in various activities.
