From the 8th to the 23rd of this month
One facility each for horticulture and livestock
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced on the 7th that it will recruit 'Smart Agriculture Professional Training Institutions' from July 8 to 23.
Smart Agriculture Professional Training Institutions are organizations operated based on the 'Act on the Promotion and Support of Smart Agriculture,' which will be enforced on the 26th. These institutions aim to establish the foundation for smart agriculture and promote its dissemination. They provide customized training programs to strengthen the capabilities of farmers, industry personnel, and consultants related to smart agriculture.
The recruitment targets for Smart Agriculture Professional Training Institutions include universities related to agriculture and livestock, agricultural and livestock education institutions, and private education institutions equipped with facilities, equipment, and personnel capable of planning and operating smart agriculture education courses. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs plans to designate a total of two institutions (one for facility horticulture and one for livestock) by the end of July after document and on-site evaluations.
Once designated as a Smart Agriculture Professional Training Institution, financial support will be provided for the operation of the training institution. The decision on re-designation will be made annually based on performance evaluations, and the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency will manage and operate the training institutions.
Lee Sang-man, Director of Agricultural Food Innovation Policy at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, stated, "We expect Smart Agriculture Professional Training Institutions to play a key role in nurturing smart agriculture personnel," and added, "We hope for active interest and participation from related organizations to revitalize smart agriculture."
