Province Hosts 2023 City and County Proposal System Operation Excellence Award

On the 5th, Gumi City in North Gyeongsang Province received the Excellence Award at the '2023 City and County Proposal System Operation Evaluation' ceremony held at the multipurpose hall of the North Gyeongsang Provincial Office.

Last year, Gumi City received and processed 778 proposals, held two proposal contests in the first and second half of the year, and implemented various special policies for citizens and public officials, earning high scores in both quantitative and qualitative evaluations.

With the start of the 8th popularly elected administration, the city formed an 'Emergency Economic Measures Task Force' to revitalize the local economy, operated the '8th Citizens' Participation Group' and 'Youth Policy Participation Group' to listen to opinions from various sectors, and expanded the 'New Hope+ Policy Research Committee' composed of various experts from 20 to 60 members. Through these efforts, the city has significantly expanded channels for citizens to propose policies for the recreation of Gumi.

Additionally, the city has fostered a learning culture among public officials and enhanced professionalism by holding the 'Good Morning Wednesday Special Lecture' once a week, expanding 'Overseas Official Training' and 'Policy Research Field Studies,' thus laying the foundation for change and innovation by incorporating diverse ideas into municipal administration.

Mayor Kim Jangho said, "This award was made possible by the passionate interest and participation of citizens and public officials in municipal administration," and added, "We will continue to incorporate various policy ideas into city governance to lay the groundwork for the recreation of Gumi."
