Passenger Car Fire on Highway Extinguished During Vacation
Firefighters who were on vacation discovered a burning passenger car on the highway and extinguished the fire.
According to the Busan Fire and Disaster Headquarters on the 6th, at around 1:40 PM the previous day, a fire broke out in a Jaguar passenger car near the Haman Rest Area on the Namhae Expressway heading toward Busan. Fire Lieutenant Lee In-ho of the Special Rescue Unit Aviation Team at Busan Fire and Disaster Headquarters and Fire Lieutenant Song Dong-seok of the Geumjeong Fire Station Rescue Team happened to witness the accident scene while returning home after their vacation.

The two firefighters guided the driver and passenger of the burning vehicle to evacuate to a safe area and took out three fire extinguishers from the car to attempt to put out the fire. They then opened the car trunk to disconnect the battery power and took safety measures such as controlling the surroundings until the fire truck arrived.
They said, "There would be no firefighter who would pass by after seeing a fire," and added, "We just did what was naturally required, and we are relieved that no one was injured."
