The fire that broke out at around 5:00 p.m. on the 5th at a nickel scrap (metal debris) manufacturing plant warehouse in Chilseo General Industrial Complex, Chilseo-myeon, Haman-gun, Gyeongnam, was extinguished after about two and a half hours.
According to the Gyeongnam Fire Department, the fire burned one factory warehouse, part of one factory building, one vehicle, and about 2 tons of scrap.
Property damage is estimated at approximately 15 million won by the fire department, but there were no casualties.
After being alerted by a visitor to a nearby factory, the fire authorities dispatched to the scene and, at 5:13 p.m., issued Fire Response Level 1, mobilizing all equipment and personnel from the jurisdictional fire station to begin extinguishing the fire.
The authorities deployed 33 pieces of equipment and 94 personnel, completing the extinguishing process at 7:31 p.m.
The police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire through on-site inspections and other methods.
