Support for Travel Activities of Tourism-Vulnerable Groups Including Disabled and Elderly
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 5th that they held the launch ceremony for the '2024 Open Tourism Supporters' at the Seoul Center on Cheonggyecheon-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul.

At the launch ceremony, Hallyu star Hwang Chi-yeul, who is the 'Honorary Tourism Ambassador of Korea' and appeared in the 'Open Tourism' promotional video, presented appointment letters to the participants and encouraged their activities.
Since last year, the Ministry and the Organization have been operating the 'Open Tourism Supporters.' The supporters investigate information on 'barrier-free tourist sites' targeting nationwide tourist attractions and food and beverage facilities to support travel activities for vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, the elderly, and infants.
The results are posted on the 'Open Tourism Everyone's Travel' website operated by the Organization.

Last year, 40 people were selected and worked for five months from early July to the end of November. This year, 45 people were selected through a public recruitment from June 4 to 17. The number increased by five compared to last year, and the operation period is the same as last year, from early July to the end of November.
The Ministry and the Organization plan to provide the supporters with a certain amount of reporting support funds (based on completed content registration). In addition, after the activities end, outstanding performers will be selected and awarded.
