Kim Gi-ung, the governor of Seocheon County in Chungnam, along with his family and public officials, has been accused of misconduct, and on the 5th, a wreath supporting Governor Kim appeared.

According to a compilation of reports by Asia Economy, the Seocheon County Fishermen's Association sent wreaths with the slogan "Governor, stay strong" in the name of the association members and the chairman to the front and back gates of the Seocheon County Office on the 5th.

However, there are criticisms that sending wreaths while Governor Kim and others are under audit by Chungnam Province due to misconduct allegations is inappropriate.

Earlier, a person presumed to be a county office public official, Mr. A, filed a public interest report to Chungnam Province regarding misconduct allegations against Governor Kim and team leader-level officials.

In particular, allegations were raised that "one public official gave a luxury bag to the governor's wife."

Seocheon County Council member Lee Kang-seon claimed that Governor Kim and his family illegally converted farmland and forest land related to the development of a recreational area and illegally dumped waste on county roads.

In response, the relevant department officials acknowledged all of Governor Kim's illegal acts and stated that they would "handle it according to legal regulations."

One public official said, "I was surprised to see a wreath supporting the governor at the entrance of the government building. While supporting the governor is good, sending such a wreath during an audit due to misconduct allegations does not seem appropriate."

The chairman of the Seocheon County Fishermen's Association said in a phone interview with a reporter, "Governor Kim, when he served as the head of the Fisheries Cooperative, turned the cooperative from a deficit to a surplus," and added, "Even after taking office as governor, he has done a lot for the fishermen, so we sent a wreath of support."
