Basketball player Heo Ung (31, KCC), who is engaged in a truth dispute with his ex-girlfriend, stated, "There were suspicious points when my ex-girlfriend was pregnant for the second time, but I tried to take responsibility." He also denied allegations of assaulting his ex-girlfriend. Earlier, the ex-girlfriend A’s side declared that "(Heo Ung’s explanation) is completely groundless" and announced legal action.

On the 5th, Heo Ung appeared on the YouTube channel 'Caracula Media' to clarify various controversies related to his ex-girlfriend A.

Regarding the allegation that he assaulted A, Heo Ung rebutted, "If I wanted to protect her, I would have, but I cannot understand the claim that I hit her." He explained, "The incident happened on the hotel side. During the argument, she grabbed my collar, and while shaking her off, a laminated part hit my hand. One piece fell off in the process, and that was used to claim I assaulted her."

He denied the claim that he forced A to have an abortion, saying, "That never happened. I truly loved her and wanted to have the baby, and I always thought about marriage." Regarding A’s claim that Heo Ung’s side first offered 300 million won, he said, "That is not true at all," and added, "She threatened me by saying she would tell other basketball players, my parents, and reporters if I refused, and the threats escalated, always ending with demands for money."

Regarding the second pregnancy, he said, "I suggested going to the hospital together, but she kept going alone. Eventually, we went together." Heo Ung reiterated that he never forced an abortion, stating, "I truly loved her and wanted to have the baby, and I always thought about marriage. When the situation came where I had to take responsibility, I tried to do so."

He explained that his somewhat indifferent response upon hearing about the pregnancy was because "there was a part where I suspected the child might not be mine." He admitted to entering A’s residence without permission and leaving a message but claimed it was because he wanted to meet again after breaking up, not as a form of threat.

Regarding his appearance on the YouTube channel, Heo Ung said, "The truth will be revealed," and added, "I was threatened even on May 5th, during the championship finals. There are many parts that are very different from the facts, so I decided to appear."

Earlier, Heo Ung filed a complaint last month at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul against A for attempted extortion, threats, and violations of the Stalking Punishment Act. Heo Ung is the son of Heo Jae, the former head coach of the men's national basketball team known as the 'Basketball President,' and is currently active as a player leading his team, Busan KCC, to the top in the 2023?2024 professional basketball championship finals.

On the other hand, A denied the claims, stating that all abortion surgeries were forced by Heo Ung and that marriage was never mentioned during the two surgeries. Earlier, on the 28th of last month, A revealed, "Both abortion surgeries were carried out under Heo Ung’s coercion," and "He demanded sexual relations during pregnancy and immediately after the abortion surgeries."

She also claimed, "After the first abortion surgery, we broke up due to Heo Ung’s unilateral notification, and when I started dating another man, Heo Ung trespassed into my home without permission, leaving threatening messages and continuing stalking behavior," and "The second pregnancy occurred during a brief breakup with Heo Ung due to unwanted sexual relations."

Furthermore, she stated that Heo Ung offered 300 million won as compensation for the abortion, which she refused, and criticized, "I wanted at least his conscience and a sincere apology, but he and his family made me out to be an attempted extortionist and drug offender."
