The Farmers’ Unity Festival was jointly hosted by four leading agricultural organizations in the region: the Uljin County Federation of Korean Rural Leaders (President Jeong Jonggeun), the Uljin County Federation of the Korean Advanced Farmers’ Association (President Moon Seongdeok), the Uljin County Federation of the Korean Life Improvement Association (President Kim Gokji), and the Uljin County 4-H Federation (Vice President Hwang Hyeon).

The main events, held under the theme “Uljin Agricultural Transformation! Opening the Future of Agriculture!”, included awards for outstanding members, unity activities, and promotion of the achievements of the agricultural transformation, providing an opportunity for participating farmers to come together, exchange information, and strengthen their bonds.

In particular, this year’s festival received enthusiastic support from the farmers as the Uljin County Federation of Young Successor Farmers and Baekam Farm’s CEO Kim Donggyu, a Hanwoo breeding farmer, each donated a high-quality calf as a prize.

On the day, Uljin County 4-H Federation Vice President Hwang Hyeon remarked in his address, “To overcome the challenges facing rural areas, such as aging populations and low birth rates, let us create successful models through the Uljin Agricultural Transformation so that farmers can achieve greater prosperity than urban youth.”

Governor Son Byeongbok stated in his congratulatory speech, “By operating double-cropping complexes in the Wolsongdeul area of Pyeonghae-eup, reducing labor and increasing income, implementing joint unmanned helicopter pest control, and establishing a smart farm complex for shiitake mushrooms, Uljin agriculture has made significant progress through the agricultural transformation over the past year.” He added, “Along with building a hydrogen-centered city in Uljin, I hope the farmers here will play a leading role in creating prosperous agriculture and rural communities.”
