Busan Superintendent Ha Yoonsoo Signs MOU to Attract Semiconductor Meister High School

Busan City, City Council, and Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Partner for Cooperation

Busan Metropolitan City Superintendent Ha Yoonsoo attended the 'Busan Semiconductor Meister High School Establishment Agreement Ceremony' held at the International Protocol Room of Busan City Hall on the 5th.

The signing ceremony was attended by key figures including Superintendent Ha Yoonsoo, Busan Mayor Park Hyungjoon, Busan Metropolitan Council Chairman Ahn Sungmin, and Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Yang Jaesaeng.

This agreement was carried out to establish the 'Korea Semiconductor Meister High School' for nurturing talent in the power semiconductor industry, a core sector in the region, by building a cooperative system among Busan Metropolitan City, the city council, and the chamber of commerce, in accordance with the Ministry of Education's 19th Meister High School Designation Plan.

With the signing of this agreement, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education plans to actively foster semiconductor talent through the establishment of the Semiconductor Meister High School. The city and the city council, as joint partners with the Office of Education, will focus on providing administrative and financial support to attract the Busan Semiconductor Meister High School.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry will support the operation of educational programs such as employment and on-site training for Semiconductor Meister High School students based on industry-academia cooperation, and will work to discover related companies.

In his congratulatory remarks, Superintendent Ha Yoonsoo stated, "The establishment of the Korea Semiconductor Meister High School will be of great help in nurturing talent in the power semiconductor field, which is the future new industry of Busan," and added, "I hope this agreement will not only enhance the competitiveness of vocational high schools, but also lay the foundation for fostering talent who will contribute to regional and national development."
