For Hanwoo, Yukwoo, and Calf Farms...
Apply at Eup and Myeon Offices by August 9th
Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced plans to provide FTA damage compensation direct payments in 2024 to support farmers who have suffered from a sharp increase in imports and price declines due to the implementation of FTAs (Free Trade Agreements).
The supported livestock categories are Korean native cattle (Hanwoo), beef cattle (Yukwoo), and calves (Hanwoo), limited to individuals recognized as shipped between January 1 and December 31, 2023, through the livestock traceability system and slaughter-related certificates.
The direct payment recipients are farmers who have been producing the relevant items since before the effective date of the respective agreement. Farmers wishing to apply must submit the application form and related documents to the township or town office where their livestock barn is located by August 9.
The county plans to conduct written and on-site investigations and reviews of the applicants and pay the direct payments by the end of this year.
The payment limit is 35 million KRW for individual farmers and 50 million KRW for agricultural corporations.
A county official stated, "We expect this damage compensation direct payment support to help livestock farmers facing difficulties," and added, "Farmers who meet the payment requirements must complete their applications within the designated period."
