Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province will hold a 'Demo Day' on the 8th at the Webtoon Convergence Center to support content companies in attracting investment.
Demo Day is an event where small companies such as startups introduce their services or products to investors. Nine out of 20 Bucheon companies selected through the 'Cultural Content Growth Support Platform Project' will participate in this event.
Participating companies plan to promote their businesses to 15 cultural content specialized investment firms, including Next G Investment.
After Demo Day, a 'Webtoon Convergence Center Business Networking' event will follow, involving 20 participating companies, resident companies and creators at the Webtoon Convergence Center, and content companies. This event will be conducted through one-on-one investment consultation meetings with venture capital firms and business networking between companies.
Yoo Seong-jun, Director of Culture and Education Bureau of Bucheon City, said, "Bucheon, which started as a comic city, is now time to leap forward as a content-centered city," adding, "This event will serve as a stepping stone for expanding the content industry by connecting companies and investors."
