74 Cases of Resident Participatory Budgeting and 3.5 Billion Won Budget Reflected Over the Past 3 Years
On the 4th, Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do, invited Choi Seung-woo, a senior researcher at the Nara Salrim Research Institute, to conduct the ‘2024 Muan-gun Resident Participatory Budget School.’
According to the county on the 5th, this budget school was organized to enable the resident participatory budget committee members to conduct more effective budget deliberations ahead of the 2025 budget formulation.
The training covered the current budget situation of Muan-gun, the direction of resident participatory budget operation, and introductions of exemplary cases.

Through this, a deep understanding of the resident participatory budget is promoted, and the 2025 resident participatory budget contest period is being operated until the 31st.
County Governor Kim San said, “We expect to enhance public safety and convenience through various projects proposed by residents,” adding, “We will do our best to actively accept residents’ proposals to create a better life.”
Meanwhile, Muan-gun operates the 7th Resident Participatory Budget Committee, composed of four divisions and 31 civilian members, and through activities over the past three years, it has reflected a total of 3.5 billion won in the budget for 74 cases, including the creation of a walking trail around Manchangcheon in Muan-eup and the installation of safety facilities around Hyeongyeong Elementary School.
Through this, Muan-gun is striving to actively incorporate residents’ opinions and promote regional development.
