On the 5th, a post titled "Enjoy the Jokbal" was uploaded to an online community. The author, Mr. A, who had a shocking experience while passing Cheongju IC last weekend, started by saying, "I noticed the driver was driving recklessly with their arms and legs sticking out." The title's "Jokbal" is interpreted as a sarcastic reference to the driver who was driving with their feet out, likening it to "jokbal" (pig's feet).

In the photos shared by Mr. A, a white Carnival vehicle driving on the highway shows feet and hands protruding out of the window. One foot is casually resting on the protective glass while driving nonchalantly. In another photo, the driver is smoking with one hand while holding the steering wheel with the other.

Mr. A criticized, "The problematic vehicle merged onto the road without using the turn signal and sped in," adding, "Given that posture, the turn signal was definitely off." This violates Article 48 of the Road Traffic Act, which states that drivers must clearly indicate their intended direction to other drivers using steering or braking devices. Violators may face a fine of up to 200,000 KRW, detention, or a penalty.

Netizens who saw the story reacted with comments such as, "There are all kinds of people," "Driving with one leg up really shows a beast's heart," "They could become disabled if an accident happens," "That's deliberately showing off bad behavior," "What kind of person is that?" and "Clearly not a normal person."

Meanwhile, this is not the first time someone has been reported to have their feet on the dashboard while driving. On the 17th of last month, a post titled "Vehicle operating the steering wheel with feet" went viral. The video in the post shows a driver inside a white car late at night placing their foot on the steering wheel and steering with their foot. In 2019, a large train truck was also caught driving at 90 km/h while controlling the vehicle with feet instead of hands, sparking controversy.

Driving with feet inside a moving vehicle or placing feet on the dashboard can prevent precise braking in emergency stops, potentially leading to secondary accidents. Additionally, improper steering control poses a risk of causing harm to others, so caution is necessary.
