On the 5th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced that BNK Kyongnam Bank had donated 2,000 cool mats (worth 60 million KRW) to the city to help low-income families stay cool during the summer.
The donated cool mats were prepared by BNK Kyongnam Bank for households vulnerable to heatwaves during the summer, such as people with disabilities, elderly people living alone, and marginalized families. The mats will be distributed to 2,000 households at risk from the heat through the five district offices.
Bank President Ye Kyungtak said, "With an unprecedented heatwave expected this year, I hope our marginalized neighbors can have a cool summer. BNK Kyongnam Bank will continue to practice love and sharing for the underprivileged in the community and fulfill our role as a financial institution that contributes to society."
Changwon Special City Mayor Hong Nampyo said, "As the leading financial institution in the region, BNK Kyongnam Bank not only serves as a safe for local residents but also greatly contributes to business and economic revitalization. I am grateful and reassured that they care for our neighbors who are vulnerable to the heat. We will make sure the donated cool mats are delivered with care to families suffering from the intense heat."
Meanwhile, BNK Kyongnam Bank actively promotes social contribution projects every year through various donation activities such as providing Changwon Love Gift Certificates for Lunar New Year and Chuseok, summer supplies in summer, kimchi for winter, and Bok gift packages. The bank continues to carry out sharing activities for those in need in Changwon.
