A Man in His 60s Causes Self-Harm Disturbance at Police Station Over Criminal Punishment Grievance

A man in his 60s who caused a self-harm disturbance in the police station duty room was apprehended by the police.

The Gwangju Bukbu Police Station announced on the 5th that they have booked A (in his 60s) without detention on charges of obstructing official duties.

A is accused of throwing a cutter knife at a police officer on duty in front of the night civil service duty room at the Gwangju Bukbu Police Station around 3:30 a.m. that day and causing a self-harm disturbance. No casualties occurred from this incident.

A was intoxicated and reportedly committed the crime out of resentment over past criminal punishments.

The police subdued A at the scene and arrested him as a suspect caught in the act. After confirming that he was a wanted person with a fine, they transferred him to the prosecution and plan to send him for further investigation and prosecution.
