20 Shipping Companies and Agencies Using Yeosu and Gwangyang Ports
Listening to Improvements in Shared Wharf and Anchorage Operations
Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun, hereinafter referred to as the Authority) announced on the 4th that it held a meeting with shipping companies and agencies using Yeosu Gwangyang Port following last month's factory manager meeting.
This meeting was held with shipping companies and agencies in the Yeosu area of Gwangyang Port to share current issues in port operations and to improve customer service by listening to difficulties.
At this meeting, the Authority discussed port operation plans together, including providing uninterrupted ship entry and exit services through schedule coordination during the reconstruction of Nakpo Wharf, which will begin construction this year, and sharing efficient anchorage operation methods (transit ships, long-term mooring).
Furthermore, the Authority announced plans to provide seamless 24-hour port services such as the PORT-MIS advancement project, the establishment of a shared wharf berth operation support system, and the provision of a public KakaoTalk service to resolve issues raised through quarterly meetings.
Hong Sang-pyo, Vice President of Operations, stated, “As the annual number of ship entries and exits at Yeosu Gwangyang Port reaches around 60,000 to 70,000 vessels, we will do our best to efficiently operate shared wharves and anchorages,” adding, “We will always provide the best entry and exit services through continuous communication from the customer's perspective.”
