The Korea National Arboretum Management Office announced on the 5th that it will carry out a free copyright recognition project for the character 'Baekdurangi' of the National Baekdudaegan Arboretum.
Previously, the Baekdudaegan Arboretum developed the 'Baekdurangi' character modeled after six tigers named Hancheong, Woori, Han, Ban, Taebeom, and Mugung.
The recognition project is being conducted to support small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners in freely using the 'Baekdurangi' character to carry out various profit-making activities such as goods, emoticons, and content.
However, the application for the project is limited to businesses, institutions, and organizations excluding individuals without business registration. Also, the type of goods applied for and the business registration certificate's business type and category must match.
The project will be operated on a pilot basis until October this year. For more detailed information about the project, please visit the Baekdudaegan Arboretum website.
Han Chang-sul, director of the Baekdudaegan Arboretum, said, "By opening the copyright, we will discover various character products and enable small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners to gain direct and indirect profits," adding, "We hope the project will help raise the national awareness of Baekdurangi and also contribute to revitalizing the local economy."
