Action Square Develops Games Using Generative AI... "Collaboration with KAIST Professor Shin Jin-woo's Research Team"

Action Square announced on the 5th that it will collaborate with Professor Shin Jin-woo's research team from KAIST Graduate School of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to develop games using generative AI.

Last month on the 11th, Action Square signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Won Universe to produce game content utilizing generative AI. By leveraging the AI technology accumulated over many years by Won Universe and combining it with Action Square's game development expertise, they plan to create games across various genres.

Professor Shin Jin-woo's research team, currently serving as outside directors at Won Universe, will join this game content production. Professor Shin is a distinguished professor at KAIST's 'Kim Jae-cheol AI Graduate School' and the Department of Electrical Engineering. He specializes in AI, machine learning, and deep learning. As of 2020, he ranked 8th worldwide in the number of papers published in machine learning and AI conferences, making him a world-renowned AI scholar.

Action Square plans to collaborate with Professor Shin Jin-woo's team on key tasks including △ enhancing the quality of in-game art assets using generative AI △ video production utilizing game art assets △ generating and proofreading multilingual text for overall game terminology. This research will enable the production of more diverse game content and active use in marketing strategies such as videos.

Baek Doo-san, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Action Square, stated, “We will actively incorporate AI technology into the currently undisclosed new title under development at Action Square, advancing it beyond simple research to become a commercialized technology. We will do our best to acquire accumulated AI utilization know-how by collaborating with Professor Shin Jin-woo's research team, which is world-class in the AI field.”
