Dexter Studio announced on the 5th that it was invited to give a special lecture at the '3rd 2024 K-Drama MOiM' hosted by the Korean Cultural Center in Spain. This event is a talk section designed for Korean drama enthusiasts to acquire specialized knowledge in content production and gain an in-depth understanding of Korean culture.
At the lecture held on the 27th in Madrid, Spain, Director Jegal Seung, Head of the VFX Division, and Director Jin Jonghyun, Head of the Production Management Division, participated as VFX supervisors. About 40 local fans, content production professionals, and VFX company representatives attended. After introducing behind-the-scenes work on the Netflix original series Gyeongseong Creature and Parasite: The Grey, as well as the strengths of Dexter Studio's production pipeline, a wide-ranging Q&A session about the visual implementation process in the works took place.
On the 28th, they were also invited to a masterclass at TAI Escuela de Artes, well known for film production and directing, where they shared practical knowledge and experience with about 50 undergraduate and graduate students majoring in video production and post-production.
Shin Jaegwang, Director of the Korean Cultural Center in Spain, said, “Watching the popularity of K-content in Spain and Europe up close, we saw that content is the most natural medium to introduce Korean culture.” He added, “Participants praised that they could understand dramas from a unique perspective by working with Dexter Studio, a hidden contributor to the K-content boom and a leading Korean VFX production company.”
Director Jegal Seung commented, “Recently released Korean dramas have ranked high in global viewing charts, increasing interest in VFX,” and expressed hope that “this would be an opportunity to vividly understand the process of creating a piece of content and pay more attention to the necessity of VFX.”
Director Jin Jonghyun also added, “Receiving many in-depth questions clearly showed the affection for Korean content,” and said, “We will continue to strive to create works that everyone can enjoy regardless of country.”
