The Wonsam-myeon Ieum Center is a project promoted after the city was selected in 2019 for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' 'Basic Living Hub Development Project' competition. The 'Basic Living Hub Development Project' aims to enhance public hub functions and improve residents' quality of life by expanding social overhead capital (SOC) such as education, culture, and welfare centered around the myeon (township) area.

The Wonsam-myeon Ieum Center, built by remodeling the former Wonsam Municipal Daycare Center, was funded with 2.874 billion KRW from the national government and 1.531 billion KRW from the city government. It is a two-story building with a total floor area of 476㎡. The first floor includes hobby classrooms and a lounge, while the second floor has a multipurpose room, and a cultural plaza was also created. Along with this, the city also promoted projects such as the Wonsam hub street maintenance and the restoration of the Godangcheon stream.

Meanwhile, about 100 people attended the opening ceremony, including Lee Sang-il, Mayor of Yongin, Kim Young-sik, member of the Yongin City Council, Kim Young-min, member of the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly, Han Sang-ui, chairman of the Basic Living Hub Project Promotion Committee, Won Jeong-jae, chairman of the Residents' Autonomy Committee, and local residents.

Mayor Lee said, "The city will actively support the center so that it can become a space where residents communicate and build relationships with each other."
