Gyeonggi Ansan City started operating the ‘Ddokbus’ from the 4th.
Ddokbus is a Gyeonggi-do style demand-responsive transportation service that allows passengers to board at their desired time and place and travel to their desired destination.
Operating mainly around industrial complexes, Ansan Ddokbus supports convenient commuting for workers at Line 4 Chojieok Station and industrial and manufacturing complexes within the Smart Hub.
After a trial operation of about three weeks starting from the 4th, Ansan Ddokbus will begin official operation on the 23rd of this month. Operating hours are daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. (call cutoff at 9:30 p.m.), with a total of eight Ddokbus vehicles running in the Ansan Smart Hub (Seonggok-dong, Moknae-dong, Wonsi-dong, Chojidong).
To use Ddokbus, passengers enter their desired departure and arrival locations through the ‘Ddokta’ app and call the bus, then receive boarding guidance to the nearest stop. The fare is 1,450 KRW, the same as a regular city bus fare, and integrated metropolitan area transfer discounts apply when using a transportation card.
Min Kyung-seon, President of Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation, said, "Through the operation of Ddokbus within the Ansan Smart Hub, including Chojieok Station, Siwha Industrial Complex, and Banwol Special National Industrial Complex, we expect a significant improvement in mobility convenience for Ansan citizens," adding, "We will continue to strive to provide more convenient and safe transportation services to many residents through Ddokbus."
Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation started the Ddokbus pilot project in 2022 with 10 vehicles in Paju, and including the Ansan Smart Hub, currently operates a total of 188 Ddokbus vehicles across 14 cities and counties in the province. Ddokbus has gained high user satisfaction and has established itself as a new transportation mode in Gyeonggi-do, receiving great response from residents.
