The Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCSC) has issued a correction order to delete posts containing personal information of the perpetrators involved in the Miryang group sexual assault case. These posts contained detailed personal information such as the perpetrators' names, faces, ages, and workplaces.

On the 17th of last month, Mr. A, identified as one of the perpetrators, reported posts on online communities and YouTube channels to the KCSC for "violation of portrait rights and defamation." The KCSC granted the post authors an opportunity to present their statements, and the authors reportedly submitted written statements claiming they did not commit defamation.

However, during the closed meeting held that day, the KCSC Communications Subcommittee ultimately issued a correction order (post deletion). A KCSC official explained, "Since it is a request rather than an order, it is not legally binding," but added, "Most service providers usually comply." The YouTube channel 'Narak Bogwanso,' which first disclosed Mr. A's information, was also subject to the report, but after it became known that the victim in the Miryang case did not consent to the exposure of personal information, the uploader voluntarily set the video to private. Therefore, it was excluded from this KCSC review.
