Yangcheon-gu Launches Integrated Daily Care Service for Youth and Middle-Aged from This Month

Yangcheon-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced on the 5th that it will launch the "Daily Care Service Project" this month to provide integrated services such as in-home care, hospital accompaniment, meal management, and psychological support to young and middle-aged adults in need of care in daily life and young family caregivers, regardless of income level, aiming to eliminate care blind spots.

This project was established to improve the quality of life for young and middle-aged adults (ages 19-64) who need care due to illness or social isolation, and young family caregivers (ages 13-39) who support sick family members or are responsible for household livelihoods. Anyone in need of care services can apply starting this month by visiting the local community service center without any restrictions based on income level.

The services are divided into basic and specialized types. The basic type consists of "in-home care services," where care workers visit homes to assist with physical care, "household services," which support dishwashing, cleaning, and meal preparation, and "daily support services," which accompany clients for errands such as shopping and bank visits to assist with mobility and tasks.

The specialized type includes "psychological support services" that alleviate negative psychological states such as depression and anxiety through counseling, "hospital accompaniment services" that assist with hospital visits and payments, and "meal and nutrition management services" that reduce the burden of housework by delivering side dishes and lunch boxes.

The basic services can be flexibly used from 12 to 72 hours per month, and up to two types of specialized services can be applied for depending on the category. The support period for the Daily Care Service Project is six months, and once selected as a beneficiary, individuals can choose the necessary services by category and use them by paying a co-payment according to their income level.

Mayor Lee Gi-jae stated, "The Daily Care Service Project holds great significance as it offers a small respite to the young and middle-aged adults and young family caregivers who have had to bear the weight of life alone in the blind spots of institutional support, and it represents a gesture of solidarity that shares the burden together."
