"Determined to Win" Biden Holds Firm... Pivotal Interview on the 5th Broadcast

July 4th US Independence Day Black Broadcaster Interview
"90-minute Debate... Please See 3 and a Half Years of Achievements"
July 5th ABC Broadcast Interview, Crucial for Public Opinion
Fateful 48-Hour 'Countdown'

President Joe Biden, who suffered a crushing defeat in last week's first presidential TV debate, has repeatedly expressed his intention to complete his re-election bid. Amid growing calls from both inside and outside the Democratic Party for him to withdraw and worsening public opinion, experts predict that President Biden must dispel concerns about his advanced age and reassure his support base before the weekend in order to survive the presidential race. The interview scheduled with ABC on the 5th is expected to be a critical turning point that will determine Biden's fate as he finds himself in a dire situation.

On July 4th, Independence Day in the United States, President Biden emphasized in a pre-recorded interview with a Black radio station, "I made a mistake," but also stressed, "I will definitely win this election."

In the interview, President Biden admitted, "I had a bad night (the day of the TV debate)," and "As you know, I messed up. I made a mistake." He continued, "It was a 90-minute debate," and appealed, "Please look at what I have done over the past three and a half years."

President Biden also pointed out that the next president will bear heavy responsibilities, including appointing at least two Supreme Court justices, and emphasized voters' support to block his opponent, former President Donald Trump, saying, "If you do nothing, you deserve to be blamed."

At 81 years old this year, President Biden showed signs of frailty during last week's TV debate, such as stammering and staring into space, which intensified concerns about the risks associated with his advanced age. Although calls for a candidate replacement have surged within and outside the Democratic Party, and pressure to resign is mounting, President Biden has strongly indicated his intention to continue his campaign.

After The New York Times (NYT) reported the previous day that President Biden had mentioned the possibility of withdrawing to close aides depending on public opinion, the White House immediately denied this, calling it "baseless."

President Biden has been consolidating party unity by making successive calls with Democratic congressional leaders, including House Majority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. On the same day in the evening, he met with about 20 Democratic governors both in person and online at the White House. The governors expressed their unwavering support for President Biden after the meeting.

With calls for Biden's resignation intensifying, the two days of July 4th and 5th, Independence Day and the following day, are expected to be crucial in determining his re-election prospects. Experts predict that unless he dispels his supporters' concerns through the Independence Day event at 8 p.m. and the ABC interview scheduled on the 5th, he will not be able to remain in the presidential race beyond this weekend.

Above all, President Biden plans to use the in-depth interview with ABC to dispel controversies regarding his health and cognitive abilities related to his advanced age and to persuade the public about his future plans. ABC originally planned to air the full interview on the 7th but has revised the schedule to broadcast the interview on the 5th during prime time at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.

CNN reported, "The next 48 hours will be decisive for President Biden's future." The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) stated, "The major interview airing on Friday will be President Biden's most important test."
