Protecting Citizens from the Heat... Yeongcheon City to Provide Ice and Bottled Water at Six Bus Stops Until September

When a Heat Wave Advisory Is Issued, 40 Bottles Provided Three Times a Day (60 on Market Days)

Yeongcheon City, North Gyeongsang Province, will provide cold ice and bottled water to public transportation users to ensure their health and convenience as record-breaking heatwaves are expected this summer.

Protecting Citizens from the Heat... Yeongcheon City to Provide Ice and Bottled Water at Six Bus Stops Until September Mayor Ki-Moon Choi of Yeongcheon is communicating with citizens at the bus stop, explaining the provision of ice and bottled water.

From July, when the heatwave is expected to peak, until early September, the city will place ice and bottled water at six bus stops near the public market with high foot traffic (across from Daegu Bank Yeongcheon Branch, in front of Yoomyung Pharmacy, in front of LG Electronics Best Shop, in front of Dongsan Orthopedic Clinic, in front of Kim Inhwan Internal Medicine, and in front of Yeongcheon Nonghyup).

This initiative will be implemented in principle when a heatwave advisory or higher is issued, providing 40 bottles per day (60 bottles on market days) in three installments. The operation will be adjusted flexibly based on weather conditions and perceived temperature.

An official from Yeongcheon City stated, "We will continue to do our best to ensure that citizens can use public transportation comfortably and conveniently."
