Handok announced on the 4th that it has launched Festal Gold, a digestive medicine with enhanced gas removal ingredients compared to the existing Festal Plus, for pharmacies. Festal Gold was previously sold as an over-the-counter drug at convenience stores, and this new pharmacy version has been released with a packaging unit increased to 30 tablets.
Festal Gold is a compound digestive medicine characterized by containing 60 mg of simethicone, the gas removal ingredient, per tablet, which is the maximum amount per dose according to pharmaceutical standard manufacturing criteria. This makes it effective in relieving upper abdominal bloating. Additionally, it contains 150 mg of pancreatin to digest carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, 9 mg of cellulase to digest fiber, and 20 mg of ursodeoxycholic acid (UCDA) to promote bile secretion and aid fat digestion, making it suitable for various indigestion symptoms.
Kim Mi-yeon, Executive Director of Handok's OTC Business Division, said, “Due to the increasing demand for Festal Gold, we have increased the packaging size and launched it as a pharmacy product. With the diversification of Festal products, we expect that pharmacies will be able to recommend digestive medicines tailored to symptoms through medication guidance.”
