The '2024 Local Care Integrated Support Worker Capacity Building Training' in Seodaemun-gu. Provided by Seodaemun-gu.
Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seong-heon) announced on the 4th that it recently conducted capacity-building training for over 60 participants, including Care SOS care managers, officials in charge of the solitary death prevention project, and related local community organizations, at the district office's main conference room to address social isolation and eliminate welfare blind spots.
Amid the weakening of the 'family-based care' function due to population aging and the increase in single-person households, the district organized this training to explore practical approaches to the 'community-based integrated health-medical-welfare support policy.'
On the day, Song In-ju, Senior Researcher at the Seoul Welfare Foundation, lectured on the background of the enactment of the 'Law on Integrated Support for Community Care including Medical and Nursing Care,' concepts of isolation and loneliness, the current status of solitary deaths, and characteristics of high-risk groups for solitary death. Participants discussed topics such as 'establishing a community-based care support system for social safety net formation' and 'public-private cooperation for integrated care within the community.'
A care worker who attended the training said, "It was a valuable time to learn the precise concept and causes of solitary death and to discuss a more closely connected care support system for residents."
Lee Seong-heon, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, said, "I expect that the understanding and response capabilities of care workers regarding social isolation have improved, and we will continue to do our best to strengthen the care system within the community."
In addition to this training, the district is striving to establish a seamless care support system through Care SOS job training, solitary death prevention response job training, local care subcommittee meetings of the Community Security Council, and solitary death prevention subcommittee meetings of the Community Security Council.
