'Industrial Complex Smart Energy Platform Project'
Ranked 2nd Among Evaluation Agencies
The Korea Industrial Complex Corporation announced on the 4th that its ‘Industrial Complex Smart Energy Platform Construction and Operation Project’ achieved 4th place overall and 2nd place among evaluation agencies in the ‘Energy Use Rationalization Implementation Evaluation by Related Administrative Agencies’ conducted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. This evaluation was conducted on 42 tasks from 11 public institutions (6 government ministries). The Korea Industrial Complex Corporation’s Smart Energy Platform project was recognized for its efforts in data sharing and utilization in the field of ‘Promoting Real-time Digitalization of Demand Management,’ ranking 4th overall.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy conducts the ‘Energy Use Rationalization Implementation Evaluation by Related Administrative Agencies’ annually to promote the efficient achievement of mid- to long-term execution strategies on the demand side within the ‘Basic Energy Plan,’ the highest-level plan in the energy sector. The evaluation assigns scores by combining implementation performance from a full-cycle perspective on three elements?efficiency improvement, demand management, and system improvement?as well as energy-saving achievements.
As the government’s executing agency for industrial complex innovation policies, the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation is leading the carbon-neutral transition of industrial complexes under the vision of being an ‘innovative specialized agency creating a sustainable industrial complex future centered on enterprises.’ Lee Sang-hoon, Chairman of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, stated, “With the enforcement of the Distributed Energy Act this year, we plan to strengthen governance for the carbon-neutral transition of industrial complexes and strive to establish a commercialization model based on the energy value chain.” He added, “We will build on this evaluation result to take the lead in the carbon-neutral transition of industrial complexes and improving energy efficiency for tenant companies.”
