Successfully Held Amid Heavy Rain
Side Events Including Daeji Art, Art Soban Cook, and Street Leisure
On the 29th, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that the 2024 Culture Day event "Seomjingang Culture Leisure Park," hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Jeollanam-do, and Gurye-gun, and organized by the Regional Culture Promotion Agency, Jeonnam Cultural Foundation, and Jaraneun Community, was held at Seosicheon Sports Park.
About 350 youths and residents participated in the event, including rangers from the Jirisan National Park Southern Office, volunteers from Gwangju University Cheongrabong Volunteer Group, parents and children from Cheongcheon Elementary School, and the Art Po Ensemble team invited from Hwasun.
Despite the rain on the day of the event, various side events such as Earth Art, Art Soban Cook, and Street Leisure were held, and the exhibition and experience of the Upcycling Playground by Lee Jong-il, head of the Play Culture Research Institute, continued at the gateball field.
County Governor Kim Soon-ho said, "Although the venue was changed due to the rain and there were many inconveniences, many people actively participated in the event," adding, "I feel that the demand for high-quality cultural enjoyment is increasing and the foundation as a cultural city is expanding."
The "Seomjingang Culture Leisure Park" culture delivery event will continue four more times on August 3, August 31, September 28, and November 2 at Seosicheon Sports Park in Gurye-gun.
