Students majoring in Photography and Visual Media at Sangmyung University volunteered to take longevity portraits in Gongju-si, Chungnam Province.
The Sangmyung University students, who participated in this talent donation, recently visited 17 households in Bongjeong-dong, Gongju-si, and took hair styling, makeup, and longevity portraits for 31 elderly residents, wishing them a long and healthy life.
This photo shoot began when students who had completed their third year in the Photography and Visual Media major at Sangmyung University and were on a leave of absence formed the "Moeum Team" to gain meaningful growth experiences through a project that records living spaces and memories based on their major skills.
In particular, unlike traditional formats, the longevity portraits were taken using a white cloth and the blankets used by the elderly as backgrounds, with the subjects wearing their favorite clothes. Photos were also taken with their homes as the background to capture the lives and memories of the elderly. The photos taken will be made into framed pictures and photo books to be delivered to them.
Student Park Jaehee said, "It was a meaningful experience to meet and talk with the elderly residents of Bongjeong-dong, Gongju-si, where the Moeum Team members grew up," adding, "I hope the elderly will look back on their lives and memories through the longevity portraits and feel happiness."
