Jungnang-gu and Dobong-gu Introduce AI CCTV to Track Movements by Inputting Clothing Details of Missing Dementia Patients and Children
CCTV easily helps find elderly dementia patients or children who have lost their way.
Jungnang-gu and Dobong-gu were selected for the Seoul Metropolitan Government's public project and established an AI CCTV rapid search system for missing persons.
By inputting photos and physical descriptions of missing persons, their locations can be quickly identified, enabling rapid tracking of their movement routes during disappearance and securing the golden time.

Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) was selected for the "Seoul AI CCTV Rapid Search System (Missing Persons) Construction" public project and secured a project budget of 200 million KRW.
The "AI CCTV-based Rapid Search System (Missing Persons)" is a system that uses CCTV artificial intelligence technology to quickly search and track movement routes when socially vulnerable missing persons such as dementia patients, children, and people with developmental disabilities go missing.
By inputting photos and physical descriptions of missing persons, the system quickly identifies their location, greatly helping to secure the golden time.
The district plans to start the AI-based rapid search system (missing persons) construction project in July using the budget secured through the public project selection and aims to complete it within the second half of the year.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, "With the selection for this public project, the AI CCTV rapid search system will be established, which is expected to greatly contribute to preventing the disappearance of socially vulnerable groups," adding, "We will continue to do our best to make Jungnang-gu a safe city where residents can live with peace of mind."
The district is currently operating and expanding multifunctional CCTV up to 4,512 units to prevent various incidents and accidents and to respond quickly to crimes or disasters. Last year, 258 new security CCTVs were installed in 45 locations such as alleys, playgrounds, and hiking trails, and 292 outdated CCTVs were replaced.
Especially around Saja-jeong Station and Sangbong Station, where many people pass, AI crowd management cameras have been installed to prevent safety accidents related to crowd density. The district is also expanding the intelligent selective control system to strengthen focused monitoring of abnormal signs, making every effort to build a dense safety network.
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eun-seok) is also introducing the "Artificial Intelligence (AI) CCTV Rapid Search System" to track missing persons in the area. The district plans to complete the system construction by October this year, conduct pilot operations, and officially launch the system for missing person tracking from November.
This system uses AI CCTV technology to track and analyze movement routes using artificial intelligence analysis technology when socially vulnerable persons such as dementia patients and children go missing.
A district official stated, "By inputting physical description information, CCTV footage near the missing person is analyzed to quickly identify their location. This lays the foundation to find missing persons within the golden time."
Previously, the district applied for the Seoul Metropolitan Government's "AI CCTV Rapid Search System Construction" project to promote this initiative and secured 200 million KRW in project funds following selection.
Oh Eun-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "The introduction and promotion of the 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) CCTV Rapid Search System' is expected to significantly reduce rescue time in finding residents' precious family members," adding, "We will continue to do our best to create a city environment where residents can live safely."
