LG Electronics has selected actor and model Byeon Woo-seok as the new ambassador for its wireless portable lifestyle screen, LG StanbyME. Along with the announcement of the new model, LG Electronics released a teaser video titled “Byeon Woo-seok is also a StanbyME lover” on its official SNS channels on the 24th.
The video, featuring actor and model Byeon Woo-seok who revealed that he regularly uses StanbyME, has garnered explosive reactions, surpassing 5,300 comments within just six days of its release, becoming a hot topic.
To celebrate the release of the teaser video, LG Electronics is running the “StanbyME Lover Event” on its official Instagram channel until July 19. Participants can join by leaving questions related to LG StanbyME in the comments. The event saw such overwhelming participation that the page temporarily crashed on the first day. So far, over 3,000 people have joined, and the enthusiastic response continues.
Meanwhile, the released teaser video includes content from a Cosmopolitan Korea interview in which Byeon Woo-seok refers to LG StanbyME as his true soulmate. In this interview, published in April last year, Byeon Woo-seok revealed that he spends a lot of time watching movies and dramas on LG StanbyME, which attracted considerable attention.
Following this, the teaser video released by LG Electronics on the 24th quickly spread across various SNS and online communities within less than a day, receiving positive feedback such as “Since it’s Byeon Woo-seok’s favorite product, I want to buy it too” and “It’s more trustworthy because the model is an actual user.”
LG StanbyME, which actor Byeon Woo-seok has openly endorsed, is a new-concept lifestyle screen that breaks the constraints of space, creating a new category in the market. Since its launch in 2021, it has gained fame as a sold-out item for over six months. Even after about three years since its release, it continues to be loved by many consumers, proving its steady popularity.
