Hyundai Steel Collaborates with Singapore ARTC on AI Technology Development

"Cooperation for Innovation in Steel Manufacturing Processes"

Hyundai Steel is partnering with ARTC (Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Center), a research center under the Singapore Agency for Science, Technology and Research, to develop video recognition artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

On the 4th, Hyundai Steel announced that it signed a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) on the 2nd at ARTC headquarters in Singapore to collaborate on AI technology development based on Singapore's open innovation system.


Singapore's unique open innovation system refers to an ecosystem where the government, universities, and companies communicate through various channels to discover and jointly develop technologies needed by businesses.


Through this collaboration, Hyundai Steel expects to achieve innovation in the steel manufacturing process by developing AI models applicable to identifying product surface defects together with ARTC, which has been cooperating with Hyundai Motor Group's Singapore Global Innovation Center (HMGICS).


Hyundai Steel and ARTC plan to actively strengthen the establishment of smart factories by combining their respective AI technology capabilities in the future.
