LG Chem Holds Career Week for Employee Career Development

LG Chem conducted a 'Career Week' where employees received mentoring from executives and job-specific experts to explore their career visions.

LG Chem announced on the 4th that it held the 2nd Career Week over four days starting from the 2nd at the Osan Leadership Center and online. Career Week is a week-long event inviting internal and external experts for lectures and mentoring sessions, helping employees proactively design opportunities for growth through work. Last year, 48 experts and 5,526 employees participated.

This year, leaders from LG Chem and LG affiliates served as one-day instructors, sharing their success experiences and career turning points. Instructors included Shin Hak-cheol, Vice Chairman of LG Chem, Nam Cheol, Head of the Advanced Materials Business Division, Jung Dae-hwa, Head of Production Technology at LG Electronics, Kim Young-min, Head of LG Management Development Institute and Management Research Institute, Park Il-pyeong, CEO of LG Science Park, Lee Seok-woo, Head of LG Electronics North America Innovation Center (LG NOVA), and Bae Kyung-hoon, Head of LG AI Research Institute.

During the career mentoring sessions where leaders and members from the same business unit and job group met, employees from research and development (R&D), procurement, digital transformation (DX), human resources (HR), sales and marketing, and environmental safety gathered to network with junior and senior staff, sharing career development know-how and growth directions.

Additionally, workshops for establishing career development plans, presentations of turnaround cases by business units, organizational development workshops to enhance positive team experiences, and sessions introducing other jobs and teams for employees wishing to experience various roles were conducted.
