The opening of 'BioPlus-Interphex Korea 2024 (BIX 2024)', the largest comprehensive bio-industry convention in Korea hosted by the Korea Bio Association and Reed Exhibitions Korea (RX Korea), is just one week away. This BIX, held for three days from the 10th to the 12th at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, welcomes visitors with a variety of content including exhibitions, conferences, partnering, and corporate presentations.
The exhibition features 250 companies from 15 countries, comprising over 450 booths covering all fields of bio. In particular, four special zones reflecting the latest trends have been prepared: bio materials, parts, and equipment (SoBuJang), contract manufacturing organizations (CMO) and contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMO), digital healthcare, and cold chain. Leading companies in each field will participate in the special zones to share core technologies, business strategies, and trends, and actively seek business partners.
Among them, the CMO·CDMO special zone will feature the world's largest CDMO companies such as Samsung Biologics, Lonza, Catalent, and WuXi Biologics. Samsung Biologics will make its debut at a domestic specialized industry exhibition through participation in BIX 2024, operating a booth and delivering a lecture titled 'DEVELOPICK 3.0: Successful Candidate Selection and New Drug Development Using Development Feasibility Assessment Tools' in the official conference sessions. Lonza, participating as a BIX sponsor for the third consecutive year, will operate an exhibition booth and present at conference sessions.
In addition, the SoBuJang special zone will see the participation of many companies representing Korea's bio materials, parts, and equipment sector, while the digital healthcare special zone will showcase the latest technologies in smart healthcare and digital medical devices from companies that have received CES Innovation Awards. The cold chain special zone will host booths from global leading companies seeking new business opportunities with domestic and international bio and pharmaceutical industries.
Furthermore, various companies representing the bio-industry will participate, including global lab equipment leaders Merck, Sartorius, Thermo Fisher, Cytiva, and bio-venture startups under Seoul Bio Hub.
A special group tour called the 'Docent Program' to support professional exhibition viewing for visitors will be operated again this year. This program, held in two parts on the last day of the event, features docents who introduce industry trends and participating companies. In Part 1, Kim Heeyang, CEO of Cold Chain Platform, will discuss trends and the latest technology in the cold chain industry, and in Part 2, Lee Eun-kyo, Center Director of the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology, will provide explanations on bio materials, parts, and equipment as well as CMO·CDMO, followed by a tour of the exhibition halls. Those interested can apply through the official BIX website by the 11th. Additionally, detailed information about pre-registration, ticketing, conference sessions, and exhibiting companies can be found on the official website.
