Annual 350,000 KRW Lifelong Learning Education Support
For Registered Disabled Residents Aged 19 and Over
Seoul Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 4th that it is recruiting users for the ‘Disabled Lifelong Education Voucher’ until the 12th of this month to expand opportunities for lifelong education participation and support capacity development for people with disabilities.
The ‘Disabled Lifelong Education Voucher’ is a project that provides various educational opportunities to ensure that people with disabilities are not socially marginalized and are guaranteed quality lifelong learning rights, helping them with self-development and improving their quality of life.
Any registered person with a disability aged 19 or older in the district can apply, and the total number of recruits this year is 72. Selected individuals will receive an annual lifelong learning education fee of 350,000 KRW per person and support for the course textbook fees.
Eunpyeong-gu plans to prioritize basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income groups for selection. However, those who have already received lifelong education vouchers or national scholarships this year are excluded from selection.
Applicants wishing to apply can do so online through the Bojogeum24 website. However, if online application is difficult due to severe disability or other reasons, applicants can visit the 3rd floor of Eunpyeong-gu Office’s Citizen Education Division with the required documents to apply in writing.
The selection results will be individually notified within this month and can also be checked on the Bojogeum24 website. If selected, applicants must issue a Lifelong Education Hope Card at a local NongHyup bank and use it when attending education at institutions registered on the Lifelong Education Voucher website.
Mayor Kim Mi-kyung stated, “Through support for the Disabled Lifelong Education Voucher, we have been able to implement a ‘disability-friendly lifelong learning system’ that guarantees quality lifelong learning rights without discrimination for everyone,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to become a lifelong learning city without blind spots.”
