Cooling 'Pet Cushion' for Pets... Welcron Applies 'Ice Bedding' Technology

Welcron announced on the 3rd that it has launched the ‘CoolCool Ice Cooling Pet Cushion’ exclusively for pets.

This functional product uses a contact cooling fabric with excellent thermal conductivity to quickly absorb, disperse, and release pets' body heat. Welcron applied its domestically first-developed ‘Ice Bedding’ technology to pets. Generally, pets' body temperature ranges from 37.5 to 39.2 degrees Celsius, which is about 2 to 3 degrees higher than humans, and they have difficulty regulating their temperature except through their tongues and paw pads, making them vulnerable during hot summers.

Welcron independently developed a triple-weave cooling fabric using high-density polyethylene (HDPE) material, which was previously used in high-strength fibers, and introduced ice bedding made with this cooling fabric. Ice bedding instantly absorbs the user's body heat upon contact with the skin, lowering the skin surface temperature and providing a cool sensation. According to thermal imaging camera measurements by Welcron’s Technology Research Institute, the perceived skin surface temperature dropped by approximately 7.8 degrees Celsius immediately after the fabric touched the skin compared to conventional fabrics.

The pet cushion consists of a cooling material cover and a waterproof cushion filling. It uses ‘FORPE,’ a cooling yarn that has obtained OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class 1 certification, ensuring excellent cooling performance and safety. OEKO-TEX is a European eco-friendly textile product quality certification system.

Additionally, the inner side of the cover is made with waterproof fabric to prevent liquid penetration. The bottom surface is treated with an anti-slip coating so pets can play safely without slipping. The cushion filling can be chosen between microfiber filling and memory foam filling. It is designed with a zipper, allowing height adjustment to suit the pet.
